David Johnson
Managing Partner. Joined Impression in July 2025.
I started my career on the agency side, working in various roles across client management and business development for over a decade. This gave me a deep understanding of what clients truly value and how to build successful, long-term partnerships. I then spent some time on the client side, which broadened my perspective, allowing me to see agency performance through a client’s lens. This blend of experience ultimately led me to Impression, where I could bring a comprehensive view to leading and growing our Client Services team, ensuring we always put client success at the heart of everything we do.
My day-to-day is centred around leadership and strategic oversight. I focus on setting the vision and direction for the Client Services team, making sure we’re providing best-in-class support and strategic guidance to all our clients. This involves mentoring our team members, collaborating with other department heads to align our service offerings, and personally engaging with key clients to ensure their satisfaction and to identify new opportunities for their growth. Ultimately, I’m here to ensure our clients get the most value possible from their partnership with Impression.
Something I am proud of
Without a doubt, I’m incredibly proud of my son. He’s worked really hard and is about to head off to university. Seeing him take this next big step and embark on his own journey is a truly rewarding feeling.
Outside of work
When I switch off from work, you’ll most likely find me walking my dog. If I can get away for a weekend, my favourite place to do it is in the Lake District. Nothing beats the fresh air and stunning views of the fells for clearing the head and recharging!
