He went on to tweet for The Voice TV show as a job, where he found that tweeting as a ‘fan’ of the show worked really well. He also tweeted for Adidas and took the name of the UK’s first professional Twitter manager.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>This is where he met David Schneider, with whom he set up his current business.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch2 id=\"spot-golden-moments\">Spot golden moments\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\u003Cp>This is David’s first tip. You need to look out for the beautiful moments that happen everyday that you see on Twitter.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Examples include:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cul>\n\u003Cli>Mum using a photo of a celebrity instead of Jesus\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Girl getting a frog to the face when trying to make friends with it\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Grandpa failing at using a passport photo booth\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003C\u002Ful>\n\u003Cp>Twitter’s user base has grown by 11% in the last 18 months to 23.4 million users. In terms of second screening with TV and breaking news, it’s really still ahead of the rest. This means there are now more people on Twitter in the UK than there are people in Australia in total.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Tip: Tweets with under 100 characters get more engagement\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch2 id=\"think-about-your-timing\">Think about your timing\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\u003Cp>Your tweets don’t need to be hugely funny, they just need to be relevant. Avoid anything which comes across as salesy.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>One example David gave was a practical joke tip from Channel 4, which suggested everyone wear ape costumes ready for when Tim Peake came back from space. Not a salesy message, but topical.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>One example of a bad tweet was the famous Twitter blunder from Tesco who used the phrase ‘hit the hay’ the day the horse meat scandal broke. David suggests you consider:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cul>\n\u003Cli>Your brand page design\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Creating Instagrids on Instagram, where your photos all tie together into one big picture\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Use parallax design for something different\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Timeline invasions – where one piece of content goes across multiple tweets\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Check out @paperboyo\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003C\u002Ful>\n\u003Cp>Strong images are really important, so consider investing in things like \u003Ca rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\u002Fcontent-marketing\u002Fmicro-content\u002F\">micro-content\u003C\u002Fa> for your social platforms.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch2 id=\"jump-onto-conversations\">Jump onto conversations\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\u003Cp>Social media is about a conversation, so get involved!\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Brands can do really well by answering questions or, better still, responding to tweets that haven’t been targeted at them but that are relevant.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>David calls it ‘reactive listening’.
